5 Self-Care Habits That will Make You Fall in Love with Yourself

I was brainstorming myself what to post this week and got this idea. I just noticed that everyone struggles with self love more or less even if they realize it or not. So I will share some self-care habits that actually help me loving myself more.

Before we keep on, this post is not about the normalized habits like

“First: Mediation,

Second: Workout,

Third: Skincare,

and endless list…”

Yes, these specific steps and routines are important but we need to get deeper than this to reach the roots.

Today, you’re gonna read what habits you need daily to feel better about yourself. All the habits I’m about to say works so well for me and I 101% believe that they will for you too!

Let’s dive in!

1. Be Picky with the Food You Eat

I’m not trying to tell you to become a picky-eater. What I mean by “Be Picky” is “be super conscious” with what you eat and what you plan to eat.

See your body as a vehicle that will run for your whole life. The reason we need to eat is to function it faster and better, “not to slower and destroy it day after day” Taking care of your body is a form of self-care that you need to build self love.

We all exactly know what we need to eat deep down and still pick those chips and cola. We have different conditions and needs when it comes to what food our body need.

(I’ll talk about healthy food depending on different needs later)

My advice is to always make a list of what to buy before you shop. It’ll reduce impulsive picking. However, because of the way the grocery stores are arranged, we pick at least one or two bad food.

How to control ourselves better:

Never go grocery shopping when you’re hungry

At such time we can’t hold our urge to pick every tasty and ready-made food. Only go grocery store, when you’re full and had enough food. If you’re hungry, buy some pastries first and enjoy them outside the store. Then do the grocery shopping.

2. Learn New Things

While fueling your body, nurturing your brain is also essential so that you can become smarter and more creative.

Learn something new! Devote your time to learn new things everyday. It gives you the feeling that you’re improving yourself everyday. This will boost your confidence which will lead to more self love.

The purpose here is the sense that you want to be better everyday by consuming new good things.

It doesn’t matter what you’re learning, could be reading, or musical instruments, crocheting, writing, new language, gardening, baking, or special skills like coding, graphic designs, astronomy, and it’s endless.

3. Polish Your Intuition

There’s nothing in this world that is trustworthy than yourself. Once you can truly rely on your intuition, you’re safe in this dangerous earth. I’m not kidding.

Your intuition is the key to your life. It’ll guide you what you need, who you can trust, what you have to choose, literally everything.

When you finally trust in your intuition, you’ll have this safety and connection with yourself. You’ll realize that you need nothing but yourself.

Here’s a little story of mine. I had a sense that one of a person that I was talking to is not good for me. Something is off with him. But I ignored those signs coz he’s a really really nice person to me and to everyone. And then one day, that demon side of him showed up to me. That was the time I learnt to always trust my intuition.

But of course, you need to polish, and practice to use and listen to your gut feelings.

There are many ways you can do to polish your intuition but the most effective one is meditation, turn off all these those and be blank with your mind. You can also practice to pay attention those sudden thoughts and feelings, you can tune in with your body, and so on.

4. Start Your Healing Journey

We all have different wounds and traumas that we need to heal. They could be from our childhood, from our teenage years, we might notice them or sometimes we don’t even know they exist because our brain blocks out those moments when the event was so terrible.

When you have those wounds, you can never be yourself fully and you can never know who you are and what you can achieve. Those traumas could block the blessings we deserve because we can’t accept that part of ourselves yet.

That’s why you need to start your healing journey asap. It’ll save you a lot of time, and depression, and mental energy.

You can heal by special journaling, meditations, seeing therapists, reliving those traumas, and many other ways.

It sounds beautiful, “healing”. But trust me, the journey will be horrible and you might feel like why am I doing it. However, it’s totally worth it in the end. You’ll thank yourself for doing it sooner. This is a form of self care and showing yourself that you love yourself.

5. Connect with People but Be Picky Again!

“YOU ARE WHO YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH” – There’s nothing more true than this quote.

To love and take care of yourself, it means you want the best for yourself, it means you will do anything good for yourself, it means you will drop anything or anyone that is not good for you.

That’s why people around you are important. You can’t stay alone without communicating with people forever because you’re an introvert. It’s not an excuse.

I’m saying this because it was my excuse for such a long time. And it doesn’t helpful at all. It’s a form of self destruction.

What you need to do is put yourself out there, connect with people and get to know them. If they’re not good for you or you sense some bad energy around them, leave, LEAVE!

That’s what I call the real self love and a practice of self care.

These are my top 5 self-care habits to build stronger self love. Obviously, there are so much more and I hope I could them in the near future.

At first, build these 5 habits and see how your view about yourself change. It’s so magical.

And the topics inside this post, such as intuition, meditation, healing, and energy picking, I’ll widely share about them with you here.

You can also suggest in the comment section what kind of topic you want to hear more from me too!

So, see you soon! Oh and don’t forget, I post once a week, mainly on weekends. Byeee!
