Top 5 Supplements for Hormonal Imbalance in Women

Hormonal imbalance is a common issue among most women. Hormonal imbalance occurs when there is too much or too little of certain hormones in your body, such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, and insulin.

You can cure it with natural remedies but with supplements, you can see the results faster.

In the previous post about hormonal imbalance, you can find the natural remedies and habits to balance hormone.

Although supplements are good if you know the reason of your hormone imbalance, consuming unnecessary amount of vitamins and supplements could affect you in a bad way. So, take them with caution.

I’ll also link the supplement brands that I personally take in the photos.

Zinc Supplement

Zinc is a popular supplement for inflammation and acnes as it controls oil production and heals wound. It helps regulate estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone making it beneficial for balancing hormones.

It’s also good for immune system, metabolism, hair loss that are caused by zinc deficiency.

You can take 15mg zinc every single day without any side effect.

This 15mg Zinc+copper supplement is the one I’ve taking for one year now. It’s helpful with my hormonal acnes and hormonal imbalance in general.

Omega-3

This is a treasure for your body. Omega3 is popular for benefitting to our skin. But it’s pretty helpful for every aspects of our health, such as inflammation, blood sugar and insulin levels, thyroid functions, lower cortisol level, and so on.

It can maintain a healthy ratio of estrogen and progesterone that helps us reduce PMS and irregular periods.

You can take 500-1000mg of Omega-3 every single day.

I take one soft gel every day from this brand. Honestly, I’m a fan of “NOW Foods” and my family too. The brand is popular and reliable.

DIM 200

The next supplement is DIM 200 (diindolylmethane). This supplement is for women with estrogen dominance, who have hormonal acne, PMS, PCOS, and menopause symptoms.

(To make sure, you should test your hormone to know what’s really happening with each – estrogen, progesterone, testosterone)

The purpose of DIM 200 is to turn the bad estrogen to good estrogen. It breaks down the excess estrogen in our body.

So, it helps with weight gain, hormonal acne, mood swing, PCOS, and heavy period.

Since estrogen peaks during ovulation, I prioritize taking DIM 200 during that phase. You can take it daily but I’m also taking the inositol which I’ll mention next, so I’m balancing those supplements to fit with my menstrual cycle.

Inositol

Inositol is a good option for women with high testosterone level (a type of androgen-male hormone) that causes hormonal acnes and facial hair. Inositol reduces testosterone level and also insulin resistance (which is a major cause of PCOS)

Our body needs insulin to regulate blood sugar. However, when cells become Insulin resistance, our body produces even more insulin, leading to blood sugar spikes, weight gain, and belly fat.

Inositol reduces insulin resistance. That’s why I’m taking it. I only take it every other day.

These 4 supplements are what I take for my hormonal imbalance personally. There might be other effective supplements out there.

And I’m not a certified person in this topic. I did the research for my hormone imbalance condition and sharing my knowledge to the women.

Thank you so much for reading this and see you in next blog.

Love you 🤍
